Issue

Cloud Volumes ONTAP on AWS can fail to boot during an upgrade to ONTAP 9.19.1 when the EC2 instance’s user data is missing, empty, or does not contain a key-value pair. The upgrade cannot complete. For single-node deployments, data is unavailable until the system is recovered.
The console displays the following errors:
ERROR: The contents of the customData are invalid.
ERROR: Failure detected while running pre-ONTAP initialization script.
