Issue

  • Workloads running on Cloud Volumes ONTAP (CVO) HA configurations may experience elevated write latency, high NVLog transfer wait times , and client RPC throttling
  • Performance counters indicate elevated vNVRAM wait times and high LDMA write latency
  • ONTAP EMS may report 'device.latency.threshold' warnings across data disks (/dev/da*), even though underlying cloud hypervisor disk latency remains sub-millisecond (< 1 ms) with zero disk throttling or network packet drops.
  • Failover or reboot temporarily clears the guest OS software queues, but latency may re-accumulate under sustained write workloads.
