Issue

Customer observes low single-stream S3 upload performance to the ONTAP S3 server on Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP.

  • Single TCP connection PutObject throughput limited to ~{}75–170 MB/s{}
  • Seen even when using large EC2 instances with high available network bandwidth (for example, {}50–100 Gbps{})
  • No obvious client-side CPU or network saturation during the upload
