Issue

  • Currently ONTAP performs Layer 2 reachability checks to determine overall port health
  • Some customers have expressed a desire for ONTAP to additionally perform Layer 3 reachability testing
  • This testing would declare a port unhealthy in scenarios where ping failures occur or packet loss is experienced
