CONTAP-350577: SnapMirror Cloud FlexGroup cascade transfers fail with No more snapshots available

Issue

SnapMirror transfers on the C2C leg of a FlexGroup cascade (A→B→C, where C is a cloud object-store) fail repeatedly. Symptoms include:

  • snapmirror show reports Healthy: false with Unhealthy Reason: Transfer failed
  • Last Transfer Error:
    Failed to create Snapshot copy snapmirror.<uuid>_<id>.<timestamp> on volume <vserver>#COLON|<volume>. (No more snapshots available)
    or:
    Failed to setup transfer.(Volume access error(Undefined error#COLON| 10004))
  • Snapshot copies accumulate on the source volume well beyond the SnapMirror policy keep count
  • Lag time increases continuously; relationship does not self-recover after retries, aborts, or node reboot
