CONTAP-647401: FPolicy Snapshot path lookup can fail an SMB read or page-fault the node

Issue

  • While FPolicy resolves the path of a file in a Snapshot copy, the operation can fail in either of these ways:
  • An SMB read on a FlexGroup volume returns:

STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL (0xC0000001)
Opening the file succeeds. Some of the following read requests on that handle fail and return no data. ONTAP records SpinNP error 296 (0x128), ENO_FH_TO_PATH_INFO. CIFS maps that error to result 3105.
  • The node can halt. The console records:

PANIC: page fault (supervisor write data, page not present)
