CONTAP-614738: Some or all CG snapshots for a volume that is part of an Snapmirror ActiveSync relationship fail after ONTAP upgrade to 9.17.1

Issue

  • After upgrade to 9.17.1, some Consistency Group snapshots fail with the following error from EMS:
    Mon Jan 19 18:30:00 +0100 [CXRSS-SAN-A70-N1: repl_Handle_sync_control: sms.snap.not.replicated:notice]: Snapshot 'snap_Daily_f05eb8c0-5f43-4662-8e06-d96da3222550.2026-01-24_1200' is not sucessfully replicated for the relationship '0aaef8a4-58c5-4288-8dcf-5715326f2877' with source volume DSID '1094' and path '/vol/vol1'. Reason: Failed to write metadata information to source volume snapshot.


  • sktrace.log shows a failure with "error code 1", when a snapshot tag is attempted to get added to the snapshot:
