Issue

Customers are experiencing an issue where the NTPD daemon fails to maintain proper time synchronization with NTP servers. The system clock consistently runs approximately 300 milliseconds ahead of the authoritative NTP time source, resulting in:

  • Files created via NFS with future timestamps
  • Repeated time corrections (stepping) by NTPD every few minutes
  • Potential operational issues for time-sensitive workloads
