Issue

  • On A90, A50, A30 and FAS70 platforms, the NTPD daemon fails to maintain proper time synchronization with NTP servers.
  • The system clock consistently runs approximately 300 milliseconds ahead of the authoritative NTP time source, resulting in:
    • Files created via NFS with future timestamps
    • Potential operational issues for time-sensitive workloads
    • Repeated time corrections (stepping) by NTPD every few minutes
