This is a summary of the methods available to safely copy/migrate data between SVMs in ONTAP.

   Note: The following is provided as a suggestion, not detailed instructions.

  1.  SnapMirror
  2. FlexClone

  2. External tools example:
  • NetApp XCP: High-speed migration tool for NFS and SMB with differential sync and verification features (requires separate installation).
  • rsync (Linux) /robocopy (Windows): Host-based copy via client systems.
