What are the firewall requirements for intercluster SnapMirror with ONTAP 9?

Answer

Firewalls and the intercluster firewall policy must allow:

  • Bidirectional TCP to all source and destination intercluster LIFs, on ports:
    • 11104
    • 11105

Note: ONTAP uses port 11104 to manage intercluster communication sessions; it uses port 11105 to transfer data

  • Bidirectional HTTPS between the intercluster LIFs

Note:  HTTPS is required to configure Data Protection with System Manager
