Unable to delete or release reverse SVMDR relationship as it is converted from a FlexVol relationship to a Vserver relationship

Issue

  • SVMDR resync of reverse relationship failed due to NDMP backup running in the background.
  • Hence to resync the original relationship, Snapmirror Delete and Release was attempted.
  • Both operations failed with following error:
Error: Releasing the SnapMirror relationship is not permitted because it is currently being converted from a FlexVol relationship to a Vserver relationship, or the conversion process has been initiated. If the conversion is in progress, wait until the operation completes, and then try the release operation again. Or, if the conversion was started and is currently "Idle", retry the conversion operation using "snapmirror resync".
 
snapmirror delete -destination-path SVM: :: Error: Deleting the SnapMirror relationship is not permitted because it is currently being converted from a FlexVol relationship to a Vserver relationship, or the conversion process has been initiated. If the conversion is in progress, wait until the operation completes, and then try the delete operation again. Or, if the conversion was started and is currently "Idle", retry the conversion operation using "snapmirror resync".
