  • Storage Virtual Machine Disaster Recovery (SVM DR)

Description

  • This article outlines how to determine if NFS file handles and volume MSIDs are being preserved with SVM-DR and how to correct it when needed
    • Preserving NFS file handles and volume MSIDs is required with SVM-DR to prevent the need to re-mount in a disaster recovery scenario
    • Prior to ONTAP 9, volume MSIDs were not preserved by default
The exception to this is, vserver root volumes. Vserver root volumes only preserve MSIDs and not file handles.
