Issue

  • When attempting to backup volumes via SVM-DR we see the following job failure in EMS logs:

INFORMATIONAL mgmtgwd.jobmgr.jobcomplete.failure: Job "Vol Create" [id 12055] (Create NETAPP_VOL_234c0b8d162011e89d9600a098ba3cfa_A) completed unsuccessfully: A file with the same name or DSID already exists on disk, when creating volume "NETAPP_VOL_234c0b8d162011e89d9600a098ba3cfa_A" with DSID 1771. (1).

  • Client is unable to delete volume as it does no longer appears at the cluster level in VLDB.
  • In some cases, following behavior can be seen:
    • Volume move won't progress, it cannot be paused, cancelled, or aborted due to 'volume busy'
    • Killing a volume move job, always ends up in "running state"
