Issue

  • In MetroCluster configurations running ONTAP 9.14 and above, changes to snapshot policy schedule retention-period values made on the Primary cluster are not replicated to the DR cluster.
  • This impacts:
    • Updates to existing schedules
    • New schedules added to an existing snapshot policy
  • Switchover, switchback, and vserver config resync do not resolve the mismatch.
  • As a result, the DR cluster may continue using stale or null (-) retention values.
  • This can lead to missed snapshots after switchover.
