Issue

  • SMtape backup of a volume fails with error:
::> system smtape status show -session <ID> -instance
...
Path Name: /<SVM>/<VOL>
....
Error Description: Aborted in tape layer
  • On EMS logs:

Wed Jul 02 15:55:18 +0700 [CLUSTER-01: ib_bkp_main: smtape.bkp.fail:error]: SMTape backup session 364 from /<SVM>/<VOL> to /CLUSTER-01/rst0a failed with error SMTape Backup: open of rst0a failed.

  • From the Backup logs:
