NDMP backup randomly fails due to volume cannot be accessed

Issue

  • NDMP Backup on the SnapMirror destination volume randomly fails with the errors below:

2022-11-28 21:02:39 avndmp Error <41872>: [snapup-/vol/vol_dr] Volume: /vol/vol_dr is offline and cannot be accessed.
2022-11-28 21:02:39 avndmp Error <9607>: [snapup-/vol/vol_dr] Nothing to backup. Target list is empty. 

  • ndmpd.log shows the volume is in a frozen state.
