Issue

  • NDMP cannot open the medium changer device from ONTAP.
  • NDMP log :

kern_ndmpd: ERROR: SCSI: OPEN DEVICE: open failed with error 16

  • EMS :

 [Node1: tape_admin: tapemc.device.releaseFail:error]: Device reservation release failed on Medium changer device (unknown).

  • Manual release appears successful, yet state remains “in use”.
