Issue

  • During an NDMP restore test using Arcserve Backup, the restore job failed after transferring approximately 427 GB (403,818 files).
  • The following errors can be observed:
    • Arcserve Backup:
      • AE0279: Restore of session 41 to server xxxxx failed (ret 20)
      • AE0407: NAS Server Error - NDMP_MOVER_HALT_MEDIA_ERROR
    • ONTAP Logs (Autosupport -> BACKUP.GZ):
      • From the node that owns the backup destination volume
        • Error (job aborted)
        • Error (writing to symbol table interrupted due to an abort.)
        • Warning (Writing inode map to restore symbol table failed: Write error)
        • Warning (Further incremental restore might not succeed.)
        • Log_msg (Phase 1 percent spent in reading from media: 0%)
        • Abort (403818 files, 427424 MB, 5223 secs, 81 MBps) 
      • From the node that owns the restore destination volume
        • ERROR:DATA: Operation terminated
