NetApp ONTAP System Manager (OSM)

Answer

NetApp ONTAP System Manager can only be accessed via cluster management LIF or node management LIFs. It cannot be accessed via SVM management LIFs.

You may create a Storage VM Management interface as well as a user with "vsadmin", "vsadmin-readonly", "vsadmin-backup", "vsadmin-protocol", "vsadmin-snaplock", or "vsadmin-volume" roles, which will only work to manage the vserver via CLI.

To create an SVM Management LIF go to Network - Overview Network Interfaces - Add. After that, select "Storage VM Management". Then, provide the information requested and save.

To create a user with SVM roles go to Storage VM and select the SVM for which the network interface was created. Under Settings, you will find "User and Roles" to add the user with login methods "ONTAPI", and "SSH". Set the user's password and save.
