Answer

Yes, CDP and ICMP can be disabled on cluster switches.

Additional Information

  • If CDP is disabled, then device auto discovery via CDP for cluster switches  will fail. However, the devices might be added manually for monitoring.
  • Disabling ICMP does not affect the cluster communication.
