During Brocade FW download firmware path is invalid

  • Brocade Gen7 Switches (e.g., X-G720-24-32G-PE)
  • FOS (Fabric OS) versions 9.1.1.d2 and above
  • Firmware upgrades performed via HTTP server (e.g., Apache on Linux)
  • NetApp-supported Brocade switches

Issue

  • When attempting to upgrade Brocade Gen7 switch firmware using the firmwaredownload command with HTTP protocol, the operation fails with the following error:
Firmware access timeout.The server is inaccessible or firmware path is invalid.Please make sure the server name/IP address and the firmware path are valid, the protocol and authentication are supported.[SULB-1036] Failed to access http://anonymous:@<server_ip>:80/<path>/release.plist
  • Attempts using both the raw archive filename (e.g., v9.2.2c_G7_MID.tar.gz) and the extracted sub-directory (e.g., v9.2.2c1_G7_MID/SWBD181) for the FileName field result in the same error.
