Issue

  • Double density SFP does not fit into the switch port as it gets stuck halfway.
  • For fault isolation, below steps can be followed: 
    • Transceivers are keyed so that they can be inserted only with the correct orientation.
    • If a transceiver does not slide in easily, ensure that it is correctly oriented.
    • Push the correctly oriented transceiver into the port until it is firmly seated and the latching mechanism clicks. 
    • Clean and reseat the SFP
    • Check the ports for any obstructions
    • Swap SFP with another double density SFP and see if it works.
    • If it works then proceed with solution.
