Brocade FOS compatible limitation between 8.x and 9.x

  • Brocade SAN switch G610(switchType 170.0 to 170.3),  G620 (switchType 162), G630 (switchType 173), 6505, 6510, 6520
  • FOS versions 8.2.x, 9.2.x

Issue

  • When replacing a failed Brocade SAN switch running FOS 8.2.x with a new unit shipped with FOS 9.2.x, the replacement switch is not compatible with the existing fabric.
  • If the other healthy switches cannot be immediate upgraded from 8.2.x due to customer limitations, resulting in a fabric compatibility issue.
