Failed to validate SAML configuration on E-Series SANtricity System Manager

Applies to

  • NetApp E-Series
  • NetApp SANtricity System Manager 11.70.2 or earlier. 
  • Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML)

Issue

  • During initial configuration of the SAML feature in SANtricity, the Enable SAML (Step 5) fails with the following error:
    • "Failed to validate SAML configuration on Controller A because: Cannot validate authentication. Ensure the IdP is accessible and the IdP server and controller clocks are synchronized."
  • NTP and DNS have been configured on controllers and show Enabled. 
  • In SANtricity UI > DNS/NTP in Controller A Settings no longer reflect NTP configuration after saving changes.

  • Under Support > Support Center > Support Resources > Storage Array Profile:
    • On Controller A, Primary NTP server and Secondary NTP server shows null.
    • On Controller B, Primary NTP server shows null and Secondary NTP server is present.
