Answer

Expanding the Dynamic Disk Pool (DDP) or volume on an E-series storage system generally does not result in downtime for the volume. E-series storage systems are engineered to facilitate online expansion, allowing you to extend the DDP or volume without interrupting system operations.

It's crucial to recognize that any operation altering the storage configuration entails a certain degree of risk. Although expanding the Disk Drive Pool (DDP) or volume is not expected to cause an outage, it is advisable to conduct such operations during times of reduced activity or within scheduled maintenance windows. This approach helps minimize potential performance impacts on the system and its users.
