  • NetApp E-Series
  • StorageGRID Appliances
  • Platforms: E28xx, E57xx, EF300 and EF600

Description

  • This article describes the steps to reset SANtricity System Manager local admin user password. This applies mainly to systems running 11.40.2 or later.
  • Starting with 11.40.2, the Diag and EOS user passwords will be automatically set to the local admin password due to security concerns.
    • Previously, the password for diag and eos users were hardcoded in the NVSRAM (non-volatile static random access memory).
    • See, the legacy admin password reset command, would not work since we would not be able to access the controller shell without knowing the admin password.
  • If the System Manager admin password is not set or was reset, the diag/eos SSH accounts will use the default shell password.
