Issue

  • SANtricity reports Recovery GURU event:  Failure Entry 2: USM_UNREADABLE_SECTORS_EXIST-Recovery Failure Type Code: 75
  • The Major Event Log (MEL) log file or events under Support section of SANtricity System Manager report the following event:

Event type: 6700
Event category: Error
Priority: Critical
Description: Unreadable sector(s) detected data loss occurred

  • If AutoSupport is enabled, a Support Case will be automatically opened with subject: E-Series Notification from <array> (Unreadable sector(s) detected data loss occurred) CRITICAL
  • Furthermore, the following event may be logged if the threshold of unreadable sectors is reached: 

Event type: 6703
Event category: Error
Priority: Critical
Description: Overflow in unreadable sector database
