Issue

  • Following disk replacement, Recovery Guru alerts to a hot spare in use.

Failure Entry 1: VOLUME_HOT_SPARE_IN_USE-Recovery Failure Type Code: 21
 

  • All disks are in optimal state and hot spare has been replaced by a new disk.
  • However, when verified the disk pool one drive is showing as missing.

   Name:              Pool_SAS

      Associated drives - present (in piece order)
      Total drives present: 23

         Shelf  Bay
         1      0
         ......
         0      10
         1      11
         0      11 [hot spare drive is sparing for drive at 0, 9]

      Associated drives - missing (last known location)

      Total drives missing: 1
