Applies to

  • NetApp E-Series systems
  • InfiniBand switch

Issue

  • When attempting to use InfiniBand Partition Keys (PKEYs) to isolate environments on an E-Series, the controller becomes non-contactable by hosts.
  • This occurs when a non-default PKEY (e.g., `0x6FFF` instead of `0x7FFF`) is applied to the InfiniBand (IB) port.
  • Hosts with either the correct PKEY or the default PKEY enabled cannot communicate with the E-Series controller.
  • No error messages on the host, the E-Series controller does not respond to pings on the relevant interfaces.
  • Observed behavior persists regardless of the configuration on the InfiniBand switch.
