Applies to

  • NetApp E-Series
  • Drawer Control Module (DCM)
  • Input Output Module (IOM) for expansion shelves
  • Drive Shelf Models: DE212c, DE224c and DE460c

Answer

Key Notes
  • Mixing of IOM models in the same expansion drive shelf is not possible. The same IOM models must be paired within a shelf for full redundancy.
  • Mixing of DCM models in the same drive shelf is possible.
  • All the IOM and DCM models require different versions of IOM firmware and SANtricity OS else they may not be recognized by the system. Adding these components to a live system running an earlier version may result in disruption.
  • IOM12G firmware is exclusive to E4000 controller’s onboard SAS expander and needs to be at listed version for an E4060 shelf to recognize a DCM3 drawer.
