Answer

A minor mismatch is expected behavior in ONTAP FlexAggr environments on ASA platforms. The ONTAP system manages aggregate unit allocation internally.

Instance:

Node 1:
Aggregate       Total Size   Used   Avail      %   State
dataFA_2_p0_i1  82.00TiB  20.72TiB  61.28TiB  25%  online

Node 2:
Aggregate       Total Size   Used   Avail       %   State
dataFA_4_p0_i1  81.99TiB   17.14TiB  64.85TiB  21%  online

Additional Information

  • During initial setup, units are spread equally across nodes.
  • When disks are added later, ONTAP allocates units based on current usage and available space, which may result in small differences between nodes.
