Description

  • It may become necessary to move a CIFS server from one domain to another.
    • A typical use case for this might be a domain consolidation.
    • Company A gets acquired by Company B or is moving a server from a test domain to a production domain.
  • CIFS server configuration can be modified, resulting in retaining the CIFS configuration.
  • ONTAP assumes that the SIDs for users will be retained via sidHistory in Active Directory.
