Answer

In any version of Ontap greater than 9.12.1P2, the bootarg.init.large_lun_enabled is ignored and does not need to be removed.
 

Additional Information

The following two bootargs may be set which also do not need to be removed:
  • bootarg.wafl.large_volume_file_enabled="true"
  • bootarg.wafl.large_volume_file_enabled_PP="true"
