Issue

  • After Microsoft updates were automatically installed,  the SMCore service stopped on the SC server host
  • All backups fail to run
  • Error seen when trying to start the service:
    Windows could not start the SnapCenter SMCore Service service on Local Computer
    Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion
