Issue

Replication source selection no longer prioritizes the lowest link-cost, leading to suboptimal replication behavior.

For example:

  • A user has a two-site configuration (DC1 and DC2) with an ILM policy that maintains one copy at each site.
  • After adding a third site (DC3), the link cost is set from DC3 to DC2 to 0 and from DC3 to DC1 to 50.
  • It is expected that existing objects would be preferentially replicated from DC2 to DC3; however, only 65% of replications originates from DC2, while 35% still comes from DC1.
