StorageGRID quota not released after bucket object deletion

Issue

StorageGRID bucket continues to report significant used quota (e.g., 51.99GB used out of a 53GB quota), even though the object count is zero.
Attempts to upload new files result in quota exceeded errors, despite the expectation that the bucket should have ample available space.
StorageGRID GUI example:
Space used: 51.99 GB / 53 GB
Object count: 0
  • No incomplete multipart uploads or object versions are present.
  • Issue persists for weeks after mass deletion.
