This resolution guide gives an overview of knowledge base articles for StorageGRID nodes in an unknown state, for example:

  • StorageGRID reports NDDOWN alarm
  • StorageGRID reports Unable to communicate with Node
  • One or more StorageGRID nodes appear next to a blue icon clipboard_eb959eb70f34a0a55fc7f4f711b3728c6.png (Disconnected – Unknown) in the Grid Manager
  • One or more nodes got a power outage
  • StorageGRID is stuck in maintenance mode / Pre-GRID-Environment (PGE) mode
  • StorageGRID node is (constantly) rebooting
  • Nodes down specifically for VMware or Bare-Metal platforms
