Description

This article describes several methods to determine RAID type configuration of a StorageGRID storage node appliance. There are currently three configuration options:

  • DDP: This mode uses two parity drives for every eight data drives. This is the default and recommended mode for all appliances.
  • DDP16: This mode uses two parity drives for every 16 data drives. To use DDP16 mode, the appliance must contain at least 20 drives (SG6060, SG5760, SG5660).
  • RAID6: This mode uses two parity drives for every 16 or more data drives. To use RAID 6 mode, the appliance must contain at least 20 drives (SG6060, SG5760, SG5660).
