Can we identify orphaned backups of Rubrik from StorageGRID?

Answer

  • No, Direct validation from the StorageGRID is not possible as it does not know which objects needs to be considered abandon.
  • Rubrik can only perform the validation to check if the object exists by issuing GET or HEAD for objects which should not exist on the storage. StorageGRID holds no information regarding which are valid backups or vice versa.
