Storagegrid upgrade pre-check warns open ports execution expired

Issue

  • When running a StorageGRID precheck receive the error:
    • Open Ports Error while checking connectivity from LOAD_BALANCER_NODE_NAME to STORAGEGRID_NODE_NAME: execution expired
  • Reviewing the file /install/directory/check_open_ports.log you will see log output similar to the below: 
    • E, [2026-03-11T16:30:11.297994 #3258171] ERROR -- : Thread error while running precheck from LOAD_BALANCER_NODE_NAME to STORAGEGRID_NODE_NAME
    • E, [2026-03-11T16:30:11.298083 #3258171] ERROR -- : execution expired (Timeout::Error)
    • E, [2026-03-11T16:30:11.298127 #3258171] ERROR -- :     /usr/local/lib/site_ruby/bycast/commands/remote-sh.rb:59:in `synchronize'
    • E, [2026-03-11T16:30:11.298158 #3258171] ERROR -- :     /usr/local/lib/site_ruby/bycast/commands/remote-sh.rb:59:in `call'
