Upgrade of SnapCenter MSSQL Server to 6.0 fails

Issue

  • Upgrading SCSQL from 5.0 to 6.0 fails
  • The logs show that the upgrade was successful but SC logs show errors:

MSI (s) (18:88) [10:51:16:802]: Product: SnapCenter Plug-in for Microsoft Windows -- Error 1920. Service Plug-in for Windows Service (SCWPluginService) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

MSI (s) (18:88) [10:51:17:474]: Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: SnapCenter Plug-in for Microsoft Windows. Product Version: 6.0.0.3793. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: NetApp, Inc.. Installation success or error status: 1603.

  • After upgrading unable to start a new Installation through SC GUI
