SnapCenter SQL Server Backup Verification Fails to Delete Clone

Issue

During SCSQL  backupverification jobs in SC, the job completes the clone creation andverification phase but fails during the cleanup phase with the following error:

Log Output:

  • Error: The storage system is not registered or configured, or the current user does not have the required permissions. Verify that the storage system is assigned and accessible to the current user.
  • ErrorCode(109), ErrorMessage(The following activities failed: StorageResourceCloneDelete. Please check the activities for detailed error message.)
  • Activity-PostVerification, Completed with warning: The following activities failed: StorageResourceCloneDelete. Please check the activities for detailed error message.

Result: Orphaned volume clones remain on the NetApp storage system after verification, requiring manual cleanup and causing backup reliability concerns.
