SnapCenter Plug-In for VMWare tasks randomly fail with "InvalidLogin" error

Issue
When modifying a policy or even during scheduled SCV backups (during quiesce unquiesce), at times you see some of the following errors in the Aegis log:

As the credentials are the same every time a scheduled backup task starts and as the errors do not happen for every scheduled backup, it is unlikely a problem with insufficient privileges as the message suggests.
