"SnapCenter Compatibility Error" occurs irregularly

  • SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware vSphere (SCV) 4.1.x and earlier

Issue

  • When creating a resource group of SCV, "SnapCenter Compatibility Error" occurs.
  • The error doesn't occur after re-registering Storage Systems, but it occurs again after a while.
  • When the error occurs, SnapDriveSALDebug.log reports an error like below.

Example:
2020-10-26T17:13:21.7485887+09:00 Critical SAL PID=[4500] TID=[4000] Error: The credentials for the storage system <IP ADDRESS> is not configured. Resolution: Please check if storage system <IP ADDRESS> is resolvable or add an entry to etc/hosts file.

  • The IP address in the above message and another IP address of the same SVM are registered as Storage Systems.
