SnapCenter Backup warnings during secondary replication for ActiveSync volumes

Applies to

  • SnapCenter Server 6.2P1
  • ONTAP 9.15.1 and later
  • Environments using SnapMirror ActiveSync (formerly SMBC)
  • Backup policies configured for SnapMirror/SnapVault updates
  • Resource groups including SnapMirror destination volumes

Issue

  • SnapCenter backup jobs complete with warnings during "Replicating to Secondary" for volumes protected by SnapMirror ActiveSync.
  • Even though SnapMirror relationships are reported as healthy and intercluster IP addresses are correctly configured.
  • SnapCenter SMCore logs:

ErrorCode(-1), ErrorMessage(Unable to find SnapMirror\\SnapVault destination for the source volume(s) Vserverdest:Volumedest)Error: No SnapMirror relationships were found. Resolution: Please make sure that secondary storage systems are registered and host can resolve them correctly.
