SCV plugin does not properly register with vCenter server

Applies to

  • SnapCenter for VMware (SCV) - all versions greater than 5.0
  • VMware vCenter server

Issue

When registering the SCV plugin with vCenter server using https://<fqdn_or_ip_SCV_appliance>:8080 the operation fails with one of the following errors:

User has insufficient privileges, vCenter credentials update operation failed

vCenter Plugin connection has failed. operation failed, please check log file
