SCV VM consistency backup interferes with SCSQL backup and verification

  • SnapCenter Plug-in for Microsoft SQL Server (SCSQL)
  • SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware vSphere (SCV)
  • Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) database resides on VMDK file system

Issue

  • SCSQL backup or verification job fails if it overlaps with VM backup triggered by SCV
  • About backup failure, SMCore_<JOB_ID>.log reports error:

2024-06-24T16:10:12.0771816+00:00 ERROR SMCore_<JOB_ID> PID=[5560] TID=[25] Quiesce could not complete for following databases within the timeout:
'<DATABASE>'

  • About verification failure, SMCore_<JOB_ID>.log reports error:
