SCV SnapMirror fails because ONTAPI has been proactively suspended on destination

Issue

  • SCV backup jobs complete with warning:
Mirror failed: SnapMirror update failed for the relationship [<SOURCE_PATH> ==> <DESTINATION_PATH>] with error: Snapshot copy '<SNAPSHOT>' not found on the SnapMirror destination <DESTINATION_PATH>
  • Job-<JOB_ID>.log shows errors:

[ERR] Error: Snapshot enumeration failed, Exception:Failed to run a command Get-NcSnapshot

 ONTAPI has been proactively suspended on this cluster due to inactivity as this feature is deprecated. Use the "system services web ontapi modify" CLI command to un-suspend ONTAPI.

[ERR] The result from get-ncsnapshot is null/empty
[ERR] ErrorCode (-1), ErrorMessage (SnapMirror update failed for the relationship [<SOURCE_PATH> ==> <DESTINATION_PATH>] with error: Snapshot copy '<SNAPSHOT>' not found on the SnapMirror destination <DESTINATION_PATH>

  • snapmirror show run on the destination cluster indicates that the SnapMirror update is successful
