SCSQL failing to backup DB - is not on NetApp storage or in an invalid state

  • SnapCenter Server (SC)
  • SnapCenter Plug-in for Microsoft SQL Server (SCSQL)

Issue

  • DB is discovered, but cannot be backed up.
  • When clicking on the DB in the SC Resources view, will see the following DB is not on NetApp Storage, auto-close is enabled or in recovery
  • <installation_path>\Program Files\NetApp\SnapCenter\SMCore\log\SMCore_<id>.log might have a different error: 
  • Activity 'Discovering Resources' failed with error: SQL Database (<DB>) is not on NetApp storage or in an invalid state.
