SCO cannot discover LVM filesystems on NetApp storage depending on partition usage

  • SnapCenter Plug-in for Unix (SCU) 4.4


When the SnapCenter Plug-in for Unix attempts to identify the file system for the Oracle database, it generates the following error in the spl log:
SCU::HostStorage::Device::Linux::DeviceHelper::get_type_for_device_name(): Device type for 'dm-##' could not be determined
With the main error seen from the discovery operation:
Activity [Discovering File-System] failed with the error: PL-SCU-00015: Unable to complete the Discover operations, reason: Internal error java.nio.file.NoSuchFileException: /var/opt/snapcenter/scu/json/DiscoverOutput_JOB_<SEQ#>.json
